The ski industry just wrapped-up its second best season ever, the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) announced last week. Some are surprised to hear this amongst the hard economic times and a 14% decrease in snowfall at ski areas nationwide, said the Glenwood Springs Post Independent.
The article also mentions that visits increased 4.2 percent from last season to 59.7 million, according to a preliminary report. These numbers are close to the all-time record 2007-2008 winter, which saw 60.5 million visits.
Coloradobs Ski Country spokeswoman Jennifer Rudolph attributed some of the success to resorts’ special offers and good late-season snowfall.
