Surviving mud season with a few good reads

The Summit County Library recently released a list of books on its shelves that are sure to help all of you gardeners bide your time through mud season.

They started out by mentioning bThe Weather-Resilient Garden: A Defensive Approach to Planning & Landscaping,b by Charles W. G. Smith. “He discusses how to plant a garden that is beautiful, but tough enough to withstand almost anything nature can deliver. It includes a list of 100 hardy plants cited to make that happen.” Sounds super informative!

Next, they suggest, bXeriscape Colorado: The Complete Guide,b by Connie Lockhart Ellefson for irrigation efficiency.

Considering adding some stoning around your outdoor space? Check out, bSunset You Can Build Masonry,b by Steve Cory. “This book explains basic masonry techniques and gives you ideas and directions on building dry-laid patios, stone and paver walls, water features or outdoor kitchens,” Summit County Library says.

And last but not least, get some colorful ideas with, bFearless Color Gardens,b by Keeyla Meadows. Get info on plant colors that “work” with other plants, paving, artwork and even furniture outdoors.
